Set up in 1955, Haslemere Preparatory School, affectionately known as The Heights, was an independent boys day school. The School prided itself on providing an outstanding ‘all round’ education within a nurturing environment designed to give a sound Christian and moral grounding for all pupils. The School was very much part of the local community and over the years the children of many residents of Haslemere attended the School. Following the closure of the School in July 2016 and the subsequent sale of the school grounds in February 2017, the Trustees of the School wanted to continue to promote the School's special ethos, values and charitable objects for both boys and girls. So, using the net proceeds of sale, they established a charitable bursary fund under the name of The Heights Educational Bursary Trust to help parents with paying school fees whose children attend Prep and fee-paying schools with a similar ethos and similar values. The Trust's charitable activities will cease at the end of the 2024-2025 academic year and the Trust will then be closed down at the end of 2025.
